Superior Materials
⅜” Washed Rock
Size is approximately 1/4" - 3/8". Also known as Pea Rock or Buckshot. Used for backfilling drain tile, fuel tanks, and underground storm water systems. Also used for landscaping including playgrounds.
¾” Washed Rock
Size approximately 3/8" - 3/4". Used for backfilling drain tile, fuel tanks, underground storm water systems, and retaining walls. Acceptable to use as Radon Rock under basement floor slabs. Also used for landscaping including playgrounds.
1½” Washed Rock
Size approximately 3/4" - 1 1/2". Used for landscaping and bedding pipe materials.
¾” Minus Limestone Class 2
Crushed product with maximum 3/4" rock. Used as shouldering and as a base material under paved surfaces and retaining walls.
¾” Minus Granite Class 2
Crushed product with maximum 3/4" rock. Used as shouldering and as a base material under paved surfaces and retaining walls.
2 ½" Ballast Rock
Size is approximately 2"-2.5". Used for landscaping applications.
3" Clear Recycle
Size approximately 1" - 3". Used for rock construction entrances and to bridge over or strengthen muddy subgrades.
Recycled Asphalt
Crushed product with maximum 1" rock. Used for driveways, trails, and parking pads.
Class 5 Recycle
Crushed product with maximum 1" rock. Used for exposed surface driveways and trails. Also used as a base material under paved surfaces.
Granite Riprap
Granite Rock ranging in size from 12” to 18”. Generally used for storm sewer spillways or areas of steep slope to prevent erosion.
Limestone Riprap
Limestone Rock ranging in size from 12” to 18”. Generally used for storm sewer spillways or areas of steep slope to prevent erosion.
Sandy Loam Clay
Used as general fill
Topsoil
Unprocessed black dirt. Used in gardens, as potting soil, and at lawn areas for both seed or sod. May need to break up dirt clumps by hand or with a skid steer.
Coarse Washed Sand
Used in mound septic systems and volleyball courts.
Select Granular
Used for sand cushion under concrete slabs, pipe bedding, and general backfill.
